Date & Time: 27th January @ 9:00am – 5:00pm
Venue: Level 16, 205 Queen Street, Auckland CBD
The Auckland Unitary Plan Independent Hearings Panel is holding the hearing to determine the position of the urban boundary at Okura. At present it lies on Vaughan’s Road between Long Bay and Okura. Two Environment Court cases (1996 and 2003) have ruled that it remain in its present position. With the development of the Auckland Unitary Plan a number of submitters have proposed that the boundary be shifted to enable more intensive development, including full urban development, at Okura. The Society and the Okura Environmental Group are fighting to retain the boundary in its present position.
The Society will be speaking to its evidence between 1.30 – 3.30 pm on the 27th. Okura Holdings Ltd will be speaking to its evidence in the morning.
Supporters of the Society are urged to attend the hearing as a show of support.
